SOUL Performance Products - 718 GT4 RS Product Release

Porsche delivered the GT4 RS to great expectations, as driving enthusiasts had long been clamoring for the ultimate evolution of the Cayman platform. The 718 GT4 RS arrived loaded with the flat-six from the 992 GT3 and GT3 Cup and finally put to bed the idea that a Cayman was subject to the 911’s superiority. Like RS models before and alongside it, the GT4 employs weight savings, suspension and aerodynamic improvements, and the PDK gearbox to achieve road and track performance that is above all else. But even after demonstrating that performance potential, we saw opportunities to improve the experience.

First and foremost, we needed to evaluate the GT4 RS system and align it with the goals and expectations we had from our previous experience with the standard 718 GT4. Like the standard GT4, the GT4 RS features a trio of modular sections that we will address, and we’ve developed upgraded replacements of the over axle pipes, rear exhaust and headers that can provide significant transformations in both sound and performance.

Due to the restrictive design of the factory Over Axle Pipes, we saw the greatest potential from a single component replacement here. By eliminating the redundant secondary cat along with the empty particulate filter chamber, our Over Axle Pipes free that bottleneck and allow flow through full 3” oval tubing. This design allows fitment within the suspension and the body while maximizing the potential of the GT3-based 4.0-liter flat-six.

We are offering a trio of options for the Over Axle Pipes, including our free-flowing Competition variant, or a Resonated version for a smoother tone and lower volume. Additionally, we’re offering a high-flow catted version to pair with our Competition Headers for a significant transformation that will not compromise emissions compliance.

This portfolio of 3” options allows for mixing and matching to your heart’s content, or providing a significant standalone upgrade in sound and performance.

MSRP: $2,395 - $3,995

The factory rear muffler wasn’t much of a restriction on the standard 718 GT4, but reusing it for the GT4 RS has created a bottleneck for the GT3-derived engine. The tubing diameter remains the same, meaning that increased power is now forced through tubing that measures less than 2 ¼ inches. Repurposing that muffler helps meet sound restrictions and eases manufacturing processes, but doesn’t extract the most performance out of the GT4 RS.

Our Race Exhaust system measures a full 3 inches from flange to our tips, unleashing every bit of character from the 4.0-liter flat-six. The bespoke x-pipe creates a crisp motorsports tone, and our Resonated version tackles the drone under 2500 RPM using resonators and anti-drone tubes. A Valved system is undergoing testing for final release as well.

MSRP: $2,895 - $3,835

For the standard 718 GT4, we offered both a catted and catless solution for a header replacement. But in order to follow suit with the GT4 RS that would introduce necessary compromises–so we didn’t do it. Our Competition Headers maximize the design potential of that section of the GT4 RS, utilizing all the space available for longer tubing and an expanded merge collector to meet the 3-inch flowpath of the Over Axle Pipes.
